The novel is not hostile to women in the strict sense, as one might expect from former Roman Gogolin ago. Thorsten Burmester just wants to build a relationship with Anya, and he would have been quite satisfied with Silke, even if it shapes a completely different lifestyle than him. Just by the way the plot builds Gogolin and continue the relationship of Tony's sidekick Mark on the wall can be, but also the manner in which Gogol Anjas motivated behavior, shows where the author stands.
